Before mezcal entered the spotlight, it was shared quietly among those who understood it. Zancudo was born from that world. Built in partnership with the hands that craft it, produced in limited batches, and guided by a simple pursuit: balance without compromise. Zancudo moves with intention. Produced in limited quantities and crafted alongside the community that shapes it, each bottle reflects a disciplined commitment to quality. It is a mezcal meant to be discovered, appreciated, and remembered.
DON BERNARDO MORALES
Don Bernardo is the 4th generation of Mezcaleros in the Morales family, a man who turned tradition into legacy. He built the first family palenque, transforming ancestral knowledge into a craft that could survive time itself. Decades later, his grandson Carlos, one of our founders, picked up that same spark and carried it into the present. Carlos brings the heritage of his father and grandfather into a new era, blending the soul of Oaxaca with a thoughtful and sustainable approach. That bridge between past and future is the spirit that defines Zancudo.


CHELY MORALES
Chely Morales is the driving force behind Zancudo production. Her relentless dedication is what keeps this craft alive and moving forward. As the daughter of Don Bernardo, she carries the entire operation from start to finish. Every step, from the careful production process to the labeling and packaging, is done entirely by hand under her watch. Chely is the heartbeat of our family, the presence that keeps Zancudo rooted in tradition and lifted by passion.
ANDRÉS, CARLOS, & SANTOS
Zancudo is the result of three paths coming together with a shared standard. Carlos Morales, 6th generation mezcalero, leads production in Oaxaca, carrying forward the knowledge passed down from his father, grandfather, and the generations before them. He safeguards the craft at its source, honoring tradition while shaping its future with discipline and care. Andrés oversees operations and logistics, ensuring every step from the palenque to the market moves with precision. Santos guides the brand’s direction and outward presence, cultivating relationships and expanding its reach while protecting what makes it distinct.
